Where in Amsterdam do you recommend for family photo sessions?

Many families want to be photographed along Amsterdam’s iconic canals—and I’ve got a few tried-and-true spots that offer gorgeous backdrops without the tourist crowds. That said, the most important part of the shoot is your family. Do you have a favourite place in mind? A local park, your Neighbourhood, or somewhere meaningful to you? We’ll talk through location options during your chemistry meeting and find a spot that feels just right.

Neutral tones and simple, coordinated outfits tend to work beautifully in natural light and the timeless settings of the canals. Avoid busy patterns or logos, and make sure everyone is comfortable. Think soft textures, layers, and accessories that add personality without overwhelming the shot. I’ll send over a quick prep guide before the session with some helpful tips.

Most sessions last around 60 to 90 minutes. That gives us enough time to warm up, explore the location, and capture a mix of candid and gently posed shots without feeling rushed. For younger children or multi-generational groups, I tailor the pace to suit everyone.

Amsterdam weather can be unpredictable, so we’ll keep a close eye on the forecast. If it looks too rainy, we’ll reschedule at no extra charge—or pivot to a covered or indoor location if you’d prefer. Flexibility is part of the experience!

Absolutely—furry family members are welcome! Lets talk about it when we plan the session and location.

Logging into your private account you will find your online gallery ready to view within 1-3 days of the shoot. You can then select your favourite photos from the shoot, which I will do final edits on and arrange prints and other options you may request.  You’ll have your final images and products within 1-2 weeks normally.

Yes, I offer a selection of high-quality prints, framed photography, and photo books designed to showcase your images beautifully. These can be easily added after you’ve reviewed your gallery. Alternatively if you just want some advice I’m happy to help.

I take a relaxed, nonchalant approach and never rush things. We’ll ease into the shoot gently—often with a bit of fun or movement to break the ice. Even the most reserved clients find being in the outdoors a great liberator from the lens.

What should I wear for my professional headshot?

Your headshot should reflect you—your personality, professionalism, and brand. Wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable, whether that’s business casual, formal, or creative. For corporate sessions, check with your company about any guidelines, logos, or preferred attire for team consistency.

Yes, we can arrange that! We’ll talk it through during your chemistry meeting and decide what suits your needs. Hair and makeup can be a great boost to your confidence and final image polish.

Both are options! I have a mobile studio setup that can come to your office, or we can shoot on location using natural light and a background that suits your personal or brand aesthetic. We’ll choose what fits best with your goals.

A typical session lasts about 30 minutes. That gives us time for different angles, poses, and even a quick outfit or background change. For outdoor shoots, we may explore a few nearby settings to find the right feel.

Absolutely. A quick jacket switch or change of top can give you versatile shots for different platforms—LinkedIn, your website, media kits, etc. We’ll keep things efficient so it doesn’t cut into your day.

You’ll receive a private online gallery within 1–3 days. From there, you can select your favourite images, and make any special edit request. Final retouched images are usually delivered within 1–2 weeks.

Yes, natural retouching is included. I focus on subtle, flattering edits—adjusting lighting, skin tone, flyaways, and blemishes—while keeping the real you front and center.

Definitely. I offer on-site corporate headshot sessions at a day rate or per-person rate. We’ll do a quick planning call to coordinate logistics, set up a shoot schedule, and deliver a consistent set of high-quality images across your team.

Who are your photography workshops suitable for?

These workshops are designed for anyone with a DSLR or mirrorless camera—whether you’ve just bought your first camera, are about to, or have had one for years but never quite unlocked its potential. My goal is to introduce you to both the technical functions and the creative process that turn everyday snapshots into truly memorable photos.

Yes, a digital camera is essential. Ideally, it should have manual modes like Auto, Manual, Aperture (Av), and Shutter (Tv or S). One of the great things about these sessions—especially one-on-one or small group formats—is that I can guide you through the specific functions of your camera, no matter the brand.

Absolutely! In fact, beginners often get the most out of these sessions. I break down photography into approachable concepts, delivered at a pace that ensures you fully understand each step. No jargon, just real-world tips you’ll remember and use.

Yes! For photographers who already understand the basics, I offer custom workshops focused on areas like street, portrait, or landscape photography. We tailor these sessions to match your creative interests and technical goals.

Definitely. I’ve taught students from ages 14 to 70+. Teenagers studying media or art often use these workshops to boost school performance, while older adults discover a creative outlet that’s engaging and relaxing.

Workshop locations vary. For one-on-one sessions, we’ll choose a relaxed setting like a favorite local café. For group workshops, I book a studio space with room to move, a big screen for presentations, and a great learning vibe. Details are always confirmed through the booking calendar.

Yes! I offer both individual and group online sessions, conducted over video call. These are a great option if you’re outside Amsterdam or prefer learning from home.

Yes, all sessions are taught in English.

Each session includes a visual presentation, either on my laptop (for one-on-one) or projected for group sessions. You’ll get a printed copy to take home. We’ll cover camera functions, creative concepts, and we incorporate hands-on practice through the session. On the fourth session we conduct it as a 2 hour field trip —putting the theory into action with your own camera.

Standard sessions run 2 hours, unless arranged otherwise. Some group workshops may be delivered in a more intensive format (e.g., 2 days, 4 hours each). Booking pages include specific timing details.

Yes—absolutely. Practice is essential. We apply each new concept immediately to help lock in your learning and see results right away

Yes. Especially during one-on-one sessions, I’ll help you understand your exact model and how to get the best results from it.

Both. A solid understanding of camera functions supports great creativity. The workshop balances technique and creative expression, giving you a strong foundation for your personal photography journey.

Bring your camera, a fully charged battery, your memory card, and a pen for notes. You don’t need anything fancy—just a willingness to learn and have fun.

Yes! I offer gift vouchers, perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or special creative experiences. Get in touch and I’ll help you set one up.

Both options are available. Some people prefer individual coaching, others enjoy the energy of a group. Choose what suits your learning style. One on one sessions afford you the opportiunty to choose your own schedule.

I would love to! We’ll review your shots as we go, and I’ll give constructive, supportive feedback to help you improve. One of my favorite parts is seeing how each person’s unique eye develops.

How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer?

It’s best to book as early as possible—most couples reserve their date 6 to 12 months in advance. Check the booking calendar for your date now and if its not showing as available get in touch just in case.

Yes, and I highly recommend it! Engagement sessions are a great way to connect before the big day and get comfortable in front of the camera. Plus, the photos are perfect for invites, websites, or guest books.

My approach is a blend of natural documentary-style photography with light creative direction—capturing the real moments, emotion, and joy of your day without making it feel staged. I have an eye for capturing emotion and connections and I move between candid and staged shots seemlesly.

I offer a base package of 6 hours, with the option to add more depending on your needs—whether that’s getting ready, first look, dinner, dancing, or the full day from start to finish. We’ll plan this together during your consultation.

Yes! While I’m based in Amsterdam, I happily travel throughout the Netherlands—and occasionally abroad. Let’s chat about your location and I’ll work out a custom package for you.

Yes, always. You’re hiring me, not a studio with rotating photographers. I believe in building a connection with each couple, and that starts from the first conversation and carries through to the final gallery.

If your wedding is large or split across multiple locations, I can arrange a trusted second photographer.  We’ll discuss whether this is needed during your planning call.

You’ll receive a sneak peek gallery within 7–10 days. Your full edited gallery will be delivered within 4–6 weeks. I never rush the editing process—but I do keep you updated every step of the way.

For a full-day wedding, couples usually receive 400–600 carefully edited images, all delivered in a private online gallery. You can download, share, and order prints directly from there.

Yes, I offer a range of high-quality photo books, albums, and prints. After you’ve seen your full gallery, we can design something beautiful together that tells the story of your day.

It’s part of the charm of getting married in the Netherlands, right? Don’t worry. We’ll plan ahead with covered spots or embrace it with umbrellas and a sense of adventure.

Barring something truly unforeseen, I’ll be there. In the extremely rare case of an emergency, I have a trusted network of professional photographers who shoot in a similar style and I will ensure you’re in safe hands.

Yes, absolutely. I always offer a chemistry call or meeting—in person or online—so you can get a feel for my approach and ask any questions. It’s as important to me as it is to you that we’re a good fit.

What types of celebrations do you photograph?

From bat and bar mitzvahs to milestone birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and couple shoots, I cover all kinds of personal events that deserve to be remembered. Whether it’s a quiet dinner, a garden party, or a full-blown celebration, I bring the same relaxed, creative energy to capture it naturally and beautifully.

Yes! I provide package price which includes 2 hours on location and a selection of photographs. There are options if you need more time, more images, or a location outside of Amsterdam. Every celebration is unique, so it is no problem to tailor your package to suit your needs. Let’s talk through the vibe of the event, the number of guests, locations, and the kind of shots you want, and I’ll build an obligation free quote that fits.

Definitely. Whether your event is in a private home, restaurant, garden, or canal-side venue, I’m experienced in working with all types of light and space. If your event transitions between locations, we’ll plan the shoot to move seamlessly with you.

You’ll receive a private online gallery within 2 to 3 days after the event. If you’d like a preview sooner—or even some finished images (great for sharing highlights) – Lets talk at the time so I can meet your expectations.

Yes, absolutely. I offer premium photo books, wall prints, and framed keepsakes—ideal for gifting or preserving your memories in a tangible, lasting way.

Of course. Whether you’re going for candid documentary style, elegant portraiture, or a mix of both, I’ll shape the shoot to reflect your vision. I’m always open to Pinterest boards, mood references, or event themes to help guide the creative direction.
